ALIS Reviews

Woodcock Farm, UK
I can definitely say that the chickens are moving a lot more evenly where they perch and sleep at night. The difference between inside and outside is a lot more balanced. When they are scratching inside they are very happy and displaying natural behaviours, so they must be clearly enjoying it as they can see better. If the chickens are happy, I’m happy. It wins for everybody.

British Egg Industry Council
The ALIS System marks a new departure in lighting for the poultry industry, bringing with it significant cost savings for the farmer. Throughout Noble Foods’ testing there has been no evidence of this energy reduction causing detriment to the bird, and in fact, we have seen the opposite. This can only be a good thing for the poultry farmers across the globe.

The importance of proper lighting in layer chicken farms
Good lighting is crucial to having your hens egg production and animal welfare. By carefully controlling the intensity, duration and spectrum of lights, farmers can ensure their layer chickens stay healthy, productive and stress free. Which is not only good for the chickens, but for your bottom line!
Boost Egg Production and Consistency
Layer chickens are sensitive to the length and schedule of light they are exposed to every day. By scheduling an appropriate photoperiod (light schedule) you will stimulate their reproductive systems, which helps maintain steady egg production. If the lighting is too dim or the length of day changes, then it can effect the egg laying patterns and will drop the quantity and size of eggs that they lay. Properly calibrated lighting ensures consistent egg size, quality and quantity.
Improve Bird Welfare and Behaviour
When hens are exposed to harsh, flickering, or insufficient light, they can experience stress or disruptive behaviours, such as feather pecking. On the other hand, a well designed LED lighting system, such as our inductive loop lighting, provides a stable, uniform illumination, which reduces stress levels. Lower stress means healthier birds, a calmer flock environment, and, ultimately, higher overall productivity in the hen house.
Optimize Energy Savings
Modern energy efficient lighting solutions (like LED fixtures) can significantly reduce power consumption. While traditional bulbs often generate unnecessary heat and drive up electricity bills, LED lighting systems allow you to fine tune brightness and colour temperature, without compromising the layer hens’ welfare or productivity. This translates to cost savings on energy bills and a reduced environmental footprint.
Maintain a Healthy Flock
Beyond production and costs, proper lighting plays a key role in disease prevention and overall flock health. Well lit areas help farmers spot early signs of discomfort or illness, enabling timely interventions. Clear visibility supports good sanitation practices, minimising the risk of bacterial growth and promoting healthier living conditions for the hens.
