One of the world’s largest research facilities for improving avian health and welfare, opened in summer 2019.
ALIS Barn Lamps, Greengage’s flag-ship LED lamp for poultry and pig farming, were installed in one of the units together with power and control products, ALIS Power Hubs and DTD Controller. ALIS lighting platform is designed to simulate daylight cycles, essential for poultry production while delivering productivity, welfare and operational benefits to the farmer.

The centre’s barns, which are similar to those used in commercial production globally, will be used for new and ground-breaking research. Enhancing gut health with pioneering antimicrobials is one of the first projects to be undertaken by the team which is hoped to expand to around 35.
Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) own and manage the skills centre and is co-funded by CIEL (Centre for Innovation Excellence in Livestock), Scottish Funding Council and Innovate UK.
